About Us
Making Safety Personal™ was created by safety professionals to help organisations address a gap that procedures alone cannot close.
MSP™ focuses on the human side of safety: ownership, communication, trust, clarity, respectful intervention, and the choices people make when it matters.
Directors
Michael O'Connor
Michael O’Connor holds an M.B.S. in Safety and Health at Work from Dublin City University and brings over 25 years’ senior EHS management experience across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and complex high-risk sectors.
Michael has operated at Group QEHSS Director level, working across safety, environmental, health, quality, LEAN, design risk, ISO systems, crisis leadership, digital transformation, contractor management, mentoring, and large-scale safety culture programs.
His work with MSP™ is built around a practical belief: safety improves when people stop seeing it as something imposed on them and start seeing it as something they personally own.
Michael focuses on real decisions, practical systems, Adult-to-Adult conversations, and the standards people choose to accept every day.

Alan Hardiman
Alan Hardiman holds a B.Sc. in Health and Safety and a Graduate Diploma in Computing from the University of Limerick.
Alan co-created MSP™ to help shape a more human, practical conversation around safety — one that focuses on ownership, clarity, trust, and the choices people make in real working environments.
His contribution to MSP™ is rooted in course design, digital learning, behavior-based safety thinking, and a strong interest in how people engage with safety messages before decisions are made.
Alan’s focus is on helping MSP™ present safety in a way that feels clear, relevant, and personal, so learners can reflect on their own standards, assumptions, and decision-making.
